When the world keeps shifting under your feet, how do you keep growing towards the sun?
Social transformation initiatives need to take root and flourish in the fast-changing reality of our world.
We believe that the key to success is rapid adaptation, long-term resilience, and evidence-based impact.
We accompany organisations and project leaders on the quest to integrate the need to report on their activities with the development of an internal learning framework that allows quick adaptation, resilience to a fast-changing social and economic environment, and enables impact.
Tropos is derived from the Greek τροποσ, which means "way of doing things". It is related to τροπή, which means "turn" or "change". It is often used to describe the way in which plants react to external stimuli - light, gravity, wind.
The adaptive abilities of plants reflect the opportunities for social innovators to learn and adapt their work to maximise impact, even in difficult situations.
We combine our expertise in biology, ecology, history, philosophy and art to support social innovation projects as they grow - their evolution from insight to impact.
Emily Elsner has a background in research (she holds a PhD in Human Geography) and a career in NGO management. Impact measurement - its design and application - has become a passion, driven by the needs of social innovation projects and the demands of society and the environment.
Katalin Hausel has gained 3 Masters degrees (in history, in philosophy, and in fine art) over the years. As a dedicated discipline-roamer and paradigm-shifter, she has been exploring how to craft situations, tools and spaces for transformation and learning, on individual, organisational and societal levels.
The TROPOS team delivers made-to-measure workshops, events and processes, designed in collaboration with our clients. We can work with existing evaluation and learning systems, helping clients to adapt their old framework, and supporting teams in understanding and implementing new ones. We focus on client needs, develop client capacity towards autonomy, and deliver high-quality, easy-to-use processes.
